Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013007458A2] The invention relates to a slip ring assembly comprising a brush having a first contact material on the surface thereof, which contacts a second contact material on the surface on a slideway. The slideway further has a layer having a third contact material underneath the second contact material. According to the invention, in the case of sliding contact between the brush and the second contact material, the wear of the brush is less than that of the second contact material. In the case of sliding contact between the brush and the third contact material, the wear of the brush is greater than that of the third contact material. The second contact material of the slideway is thus degraded first, which corresponds to the normal service life of a slideway. The brush is then degraded against the third contact material, achieving a considerable extension of service life.
