[origin: GB2493180A] A valve, such as a ball valve 24 defining a subsea test tree of a landing string, comprises a valve mechanism ball seat 42 and ball member 44 located within a housing arrangement 40 comprising a structural outer housing 60 configured to be mechanically secured with a fluid conduit system, and an inner housing 62 located within the outer housing and configured to contain pressure. The ball 44 may have a cutting region to shear through tubing. The outer housing 60 may be longitudinally split into two hinged segments and may have a non-cylindrical, or oval, outer profile.
