[origin: EP2738346A1] The device (2) has electrical sockets which are galvanically connected to electrical data and/or supply line to contact electrical sockets of drill pipe. A collet blocking plug is configured to be axially insertable into and removable from receiver end of drill pipe. A collet is configured to be interlocked with drill pipe in locked position and released from drill pipe in release position. An independent claim is included for a method for connecting electrical data and/or supply line to drill pipe electrical sockets of a wired drill pipe.
