Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013020552A1] The invention relates to a spark plug connector (1) comprising a connector body (21) with a spark plug high voltage contact (35) for producing a connection to and with a spark plug (6), configured as an isolator, an ignition cable (3) coming into the connector body (21) on the end remote from the spark plug high voltage contact, for the transmission of an ignition voltage of an ignition voltage source (5) to the spark plug (6), wherein the plug connector (21) has a connection point (23) on the end remote from the spark plug high voltage contact for receiving, mounting and/or connecting a structural element (22) which elongates the spark plug connector (1), and the structural element (22) is disposed on the connection point (23) in such a manner that the structural element (22) elongates the connector body (21) on the end remote from the spark plug high voltage contact, wherein the ignition cable (3) is retained and/or guided over the length thereof by the structural element (22) and the material of the structural element has a higher rigidity and strength and/or a lower density with simultaneously a lower use of material than the material of the connector body (21).
