Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013020584A1] It is described a method for optimizing the mobility robustness of a mobile radio communication network (100) with respect to user equipments (140) being supposed to be handed over from a source cell to a target cell. The method comprises (a) detecting, by a base station (120) based on reporting information from the user equipments, handover (HO) problems which have been occurred within a predefined time interval, (b) classifying the detected HO problems into a first, a second and a third category, (c) determining at least one information being related to at least one of the detected HO problems, wherein the at least one information represents a refinement of at least one of the three categories or wherein the at least one information represents a further category, (d) counting a the numbers of HO problems which have been classified into the various categories, (e) reporting a key performance indicator message (160a, 260) to a central unit (110) of the mobile radio communication network (100), wherein the key performance indicator message (160a, 260) is indicative for the numbers of the various categories and for the determined at least one information, and (f) adapting, based on the reported key performance indicator message (160a, 260), the value a mobility related network configuration parameter of the mobile radio communication network (100) such that the mobility robustness of the communication network (100) is optimized. Further, the present invention relates to a base station (120, 320) and to a central unit (110), which, in conjunction which each other, are configured for carrying out the described mobility robustness optimization method.
