The printing machine (102) has a cover (101) which is configured, so that it separates the printing machine from the surrounding space (160) such that a controlled atmosphere is produced in the space (170) within the cover. A supply pipe unit (103) is provided to guide a container (120) in the space inside the cover. A diversion unit (104) is provided to forward the container from the space. A ventilation system (107) is provided to generate an excess pressure opposite to the outer pressure within the cover with a main stream. An independent claim is included for a direct printing method for printing the container by using a printing machine.

Druckmaschine (102) zum Direktbedrucken von Behältern (120), wobei die Druckmaschine eine Verkleidung (101) umfasst, die so ausgestaltet ist, dass sie die darin befindliche Druckmaschine von dem umgebenden Raum abtrennt, wobei wenigstens eine Zuleitungsmöglichkeit (103) um die Behälter in den Raum innerhalb der Verkleidung zu leiten und eine Ausleitungsmöglichkeit (1024), um die Behälter aus diesem Raum herauszuleiten vorgesehen ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verkleidung die Druckmaschine derart vom umgebenden Raum abtrennt, dass im Raum (170) innerhalb der Verkleidung eine kontrollierte Atmosphäre erzeugt werden kann und ein entsprechendes Verfahren.
