Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2743950A1] The switching device has gastight sealed electrically insulating housing (3) containing movable contact (21) and fixed contact (15). The two contacts contact each other during switched-on state and are separated from each other during switched off-state. An arc driving arrangement is configured to generate magnetic field in the region of the contacts. The arc guidance arrangements are configured to conduct the arcs generated in preset current directions between the contacts toward the purge area (31) of the housing.
