[origin: EP2746643A1] The invention relates to a fixing system (1) for recessed luminaire (31) comprising at least a carrier frame (2) and a clamping unit (3). The clamping unit can be moved from an installation position in which the clamping element is in an upright orientation to a fixing position in which the clamping element protrudes from the carrier frame. The clamping unit (3) comprises a flap (9), a nut (10) and a screw (11). The nut (10) is fixed to the flap and rotatable with respect to the flap. The screw (11) meshes with the nut. Rotation of the screw makes the nut travel linearly along a shaft of the screw and rotates the flap from the installation position to the fixing position.
