[origin: EP2746680A1] The surface (1) has a hotplate (4), a casing (5), and a control unit, where the hotplate seals an upper opening of the casing. A power supply cord (8) feeds the control unit. The casing includes a lower wall (5a) and a set of side walls (5b, 5d). An additional wall (5e) of the casing extends according to oblique direction with regard to the lower wall of the casing and with regard to the side walls of the casing. The additional wall of the casing is arranged with a passage opening (13) for the power supply cord.
