Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2747108A2] The device (1) has conducting paths (2, 3) including respective terminals (4, 4', 5, 5'), which are arranged at respective sides of the device. Each path includes contact pairs (7, 7', 8, 8') of contacts (9, 9', 10, 10'), which are in contact with each other in a switched on condition of the device. Each contact pair includes quenching devices (21, 21', 22, 22') for quenching a light arc occurring between the contacts. The quenching devices of the paths are arranged behind each other in a direction of the terminals to the other terminals and partially in overlapping relative to each other.
