[origin: WO2012171991A1] The invention relates to processes and to an apparatus for sizing of particles (1) consisting at least partly of fibres and/or chips suitable for production of material boards, wherein the particles are sized by metering them in with a metering device (11), sizing them with a binder (6) in an essentially vertical shaft (4), and then mixing them in an essentially horizontal mixing apparatus (10). The invention is that the shaft (4) is divided at least into a first and a second shaft section (12, 15), and, in the first shaft section (12), the particles (1) metered in are resolved and/or divided into at least one first particle curtain (5) with a pre-resolution device (2). Subsequently, the resolved/divided particles (1) are resolved with a main resolution device (3) into a second particle curtain (7), and the second particle curtain (7) is sized with a binder (6) emerging from nozzles (14), and the second particle curtain (7) is subsequently passed through a second shaft section (15) into the mixer (10) for further mixing.
