[origin: WO2013029768A1] The invention relates to a device for treating a plate-shaped element (35), which is to be mounted at a lateral side of a machine (33) for manufacturing packaging, wherein the element (35), which moves at an operating speed, includes a hub (52) that rotates (R) relative to a substantially horizontal and transverse rotational pin (53), two tools (57, 58) that are mounted on the hub (52) and capable of treating the element (35) in a respective treatment position, driving means capable of rotating (R) the hub (52) and the two tools (57, 58), and a counter-tool (64) that rotates (C) relative to a substantially horizontal and transverse rotational pin that is parallel to the rotational pin (53) of the hub (52), the element (35) being inserted between the tools (57, 58) and the counter-tool (64). The rotating (R) speed (V) of the hub (52) varies during a rotation cycle of the hub (52), while having two constant-speed phases (67, 68), said constant speed being substantially equal to the operating speed, wherein, during said phases, each of the tools (57, 58) is in the treatment position for consecutively treating the element (35), and at least one variable-speed phase (69, 71, 72, 74), during which each of the two tools (57, 58) is in an intermediate position between the respective treatment positions of each of the two tools (57, 58), so as to form a front side-treatment position and a back side-treatment position on the element (35).
