The bearing or force transmission component is characterized in that the course of the sleeve curve of the cross-section transition (4) along the longitudinal axis (L) of the load receiving region (2) corresponds with a partial ellipse (8) at least in sections, wherein the length ratio between the longer (b) and the shorter ellipse half-axis (a) is equal to the Euler number e. The invention enables a reduction of the material and notch stresses occurring in the region of the cross-section transition, and thus the frequency of failures. According to the invention, the service life of highly stressed bearing or force transmitting components can thus be increased and/or the component sizing accordingly reduced. Lighter and more economical materials or production methods can be electively used with component sizing remaining unchanged.
