[origin: WO2013038011A1] A nuclear imaging system for updating an original nuclear image (10), the nuclear imaging system comprising: a data memory for storing the original three-dimensional nuclear image (10); a nuclear radiation detector (50) which is movable along a freely variable path and is intended to measure nuclear radiation in order to obtain nuclear radiation values; a tracking system (60) for tracking the nuclear radiation detector (50) while measuring the nuclear radiation, thus obtaining detector coordinates which indicate a posture of the tracked nuclear radiation detector in relation to an image coordinate system of the nuclear image; a nuclear data input (70) configured to receive the nuclear radiation values from the nuclear radiation detector (50) and the detector coordinates from the tracking system (60) and to associate the nuclear radiation values with the respective detector coordinates; and an image update module (20) with an update rule for changing the original nuclear image (10) on the basis of the nuclear radiation values and the detector coordinates, wherein the image update module is configured to produce an updated three-dimensional nuclear image (18) by applying the update rule to the original nuclear image.
