[origin: EP2571109A1] The connector has a socket side (1) with an insulating socket housing (10) receiving socket elements (2) having socket portions (20) and contact portions for connecting to a multipolar cable. A wall (32) extends from a contact surface (31) of a plug housing (30) or the socket housing, where the wall partly surrounds pin portions (40) of plug elements (4). The socket portions or the pin portions lie in an opening (12), where the cross-section of the wall perpendicular to a plug direction (S) matches the cross-section of the opening, and the wall protrudes into the opening in a plugged state.
