Ein Verfahren zum Behandeln von Tabak umfasst Konditionieren des Tabaks, wobei der Tabak nach dem Konditionieren zur Oxidationsbehandlung für mindestens 30 Minuten einer mit Sauerstoff angereicherten Oxidationsatmosphäre bei einer mittleren Temperatur von weniger als 45 °C ausgesetzt wird.
