The method involves docking watercraft (10) to offshore installation (11), by providing positive connection between bridge element (17) of watercraft and component of offshore installation. The watercraft is docked to offshore installation through frictional docking of bugs (12) of watercraft to offshore installation. A free end (21) of bridge element associated with friction engaging unit (22) is pressed against the offshore installation. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for provision of transition between watercraft and offshore installation.

Versorgungsschiffe (10) werden an Offshore-Anlagen üblicherweise angedockt durch eine formschlüssige Verbindung zwischen einer Gangway (17) des Versorgungsschiffs (10) und einem Bauteil der Offshore-Anlage oder durch ein reibschlüssiges Andocken des Bugs (12) des Versorgungsschiffs (10) an die Offshore-Anlage. Diese Andockmethoden sind nur bei relativ geringem Seegang einsetzbar. Die Erfindung sieht es vor, die Gangway (17) des Versorgungsschiffs (10) reibschlüssig an mindestens einem Bauteil der Offshore-Anlage anzudocken oder die Gangway (17) zusammen mit dem Bug (12) des Versorgungsschiffs (10) reibschlüssig an die Offshore-Anlage anzudocken. Dieses Andockverfahren ermöglicht einen sicheren Übergang von Personen zwischen dem Versorgungsschiff (10) und der Offshore-Anlage auch bei mehr Wellengang.
