[origin: WO2013041771A1] The object of the invention is a method and an arrangement for installing in an elevator a flexible member (2), such as a rope, belt or cable, and also an installation pack of the flexible member (2). In the solution according to the invention the flexible member (2) is fed into the elevator by discharging the flexible member (2) from a reel (6) rotating in situ, which is supported in a manner allowing rotation inside its packing case (1).
