[origin: WO2013040720A1] The invention relates to an arrangement for converting mechanical energy into electric energy which can be fed to a load, in particular an accumulator (1) or a power supply grid, comprising: - an electric machine (10), which has at least one permanent magnet and at least one phase conductor (11-13) with at least one coil, and - a control circuit (20) for controlling the electric machine (10) as a generator. The control circuit is designed to alternately short-circuit and release the at least one phase conductor (11-13) such that the at least one coil forms a part of a boost converter. Furthermore, the control circuit (20) is designed to control the electric machine (10) as a motor in order to drive the rotor of the electric machine during a standstill.
