The fire alarm (1) has a sensor system (2) acquiring fire-specific measurement values, and an evaluation unit (3) for detection of fire on basis of the fire-specific measurement values. A positioning device (4) i.e. rotary switch, is provided for manual adjustment of evaluation sensitivity of the fire alarm. The positioning device is arranged in housing of the fire alarm. The evaluation sensitivity is more adjustable in three sensitivity stages. The sensor system includes sensors, which are activated with three sensitivity stages.

Es wird ein Brandmelder zur Detektion eines Brands vorgeschlagen, mit einer Sensorik 2 zur Erfassung von brandspezifischen Messwerten, mit einer Auswerteeinheit 3 zur Detektion des Brands auf Basis der brandspezifischen Messwerte, mit einer Stelleinrichtung 4, welche zur manuellen Einstellung der Auswerteempfindlichkeit des Brandmelders 1 an dem Brandmelder 1 ausgebildet ist, wobei die Stelleinrichtung in oder an dem Brandmelder 1 angeordnet ist, wobei die Auswerteempfindlichkeit in mindestens drei Empfindlichkeitsstufen einstellbar ist.
