Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2760173A1] Embodiments of the present invention provide a data transmission method, device, and system, which relate to the communications field. The method includes encapsulating, by a first base station, fragmented Internet Protocol IP data, first clock information, and first link status information into an IP packet, and sending the IP packet to a second base station through an IP transmission line so as to allow the second base station to restore the IP packet to E1 or T1 data. In the present invention, the first base station virtualizes IP data into E1/T1 data and transmits the E1/T1 data to the second base station through an IP network, and the second base station restores the E1/T1 data to real E1/T1 data, thereby implementing a transparent conversion between a packet switching transmission mode and a TDM transmission mode. The first base station and the second base station can be interconnected by using the IP network. This accommodates the evolution towards IP transmission and protects investment of an operator to the maximum extent.
