Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013045019A1] In order to renovate a ballast bed (2), a, in terms of a working direction (5), first clearing device (6) takes up an upper, re-usable bed layer (7) and feeds it to a cleaning system. The gravel (16) which is sieved out in the process is discharged onto the sub-grade (9) behind the second clearing device (8) in the working direction (5) in order to manufacture a gravel layer (15), is levelled and compressed. In parallel with this, residual gravel (25) which occurs as a result of further cleaning processes of the ballast (17) which can be re-used is discharged onto the track (3) in front of the first clearing device (6) in the working direction (5) and is taken up by the first clearing device (6) in conjunction with the upper bed layer (7).
