[origin: EP2762327A1] A composite writing instrument is provided in which a knock bar can be shortened and a refill allowing long writing can be mounted without increasing a length of the whole writing instrument. The instrument has a plurality of guide slits 11 each formed along an axial direction and spaced circumferentially on a rear end side of a body cylinder, a plurality of knock bars 18 to which rear end portions of writing means 5 accommodated in the body cylinder are respectively connected and which are respectively guided in the guide slits, and a rotating cam 25 having formed therein a locking portion 31c for locking the knock bar in an advanced state, the rotating cam being rotationally driven as one knock bar is slid towards a top end of the body cylinder. The rotating cam is rotationally driven as another knock bar is slid to unlock the locking portion in the one knock bar and lock the another knock bar in the advanced state by means of said locking portion 31c.
