The drying device (1) has an upstanding drying chamber (3) and an underlying discharge level (5), which is provided with a conveying unit, where the conveying unit is moved with a horizontal component. A partial area of a passage (4) from the drying chamber to the discharge level is clear at all times and is swept over by a conveying- or locking element. The rake blades are mounted on plastic plates.

Eine Trocknungseinrichtung (1) für insbesondere zur Verbrennung oder zur Vergasung vorgesehenes, insbesondere biologisches Material (2), wobei die Trocknungseinrichtung (1) zumindest eine aufragende Trocknungskammer (3) und eine darunter befindliche und mit zumindest einer Fördereinheit (8;9) versehene Austragebene (5) umfaßt, wobei die Fördereinheit (8;9) mit einer Horizontalkomponente beweglich ist, wird so ausgebildet, daß zumindest ein Teilbereich eines Durchgangs (4) von der Trocknungskammer (3) zur Austragebene (5) jederzeit frei und von keinem Förder- oder Sperrglied überstrichen ist.
