[origin: WO2013050098A1] The invention relates to a method for the variable adjustment of a compression ratio of a combustion chamber, in particular a cylinder, of an internal combustion machine, according to which said compression ratio is adjusted by means of a device (36) of a piston (14) which is associated with the combustion chamber (14) and which is coupled by means of respective coupling areas (22, 24) to a piston pin (10) for joining the piston (14) to a connecting rod (16) of the internal combustion engine. According to the invention, for adjusting the compression ratio, a rotation of the piston pin (10) associated with the device (36) is provoked, in relation to the piston, said piston pin comprising at least one eccentric element (23) which is eccentrically arranged in relation to the joining area (22) of the piston pin (10), for joining the piston pin (10) to connecting rod (16).
