[origin: WO2013075895A1] This invention relates to a method for redundant communication between a user terminal (210, 220) and a control system server (300) for an automation system (100), wherein the automation system (100) comprises a controller (400) for automatically controlling an installation or a device (500) and the control system server (300) is set up and designed to configure, engineer, operate and/or monitor the controller (400). Furthermore, the user terminal (210, 220) comprises a first (212, 222) and a second terminal interface (214, 224) for communicating with the control system server (300) via at least one communication network (250, 252, 260), the control system server (300) comprises a first (312) and a second server interface (314) for communicating with the user terminal (210, 220) via the at least one communication network (250, 252, 260), and a first terminal message containing terminal payload for configuring, engineering, operating and/or monitoring the controller (300) is sent to the control system server (300) via the first terminal interface (212, 222), and a second terminal message containing the terminal payload is sent to the control system server (300) via the second terminal interface (214, 224). The control system server (300), after receipt of a new terminal message, checks whether it has already received a terminal message containing the same payload and rejects the new terminal message if it has already received and saved a terminal message containing the same payload or saves and further processes the new terminal message if it has not yet received a terminal message containing the same payload.
