[origin: EP2764782A1] The device has a strand-like continuously supplied carrier (1) i.e. cotton thread, inserted into a continuously supplied strand (5) of a filter material by a feed device (4). The carrier is guided in a guide passage (13), which is formed in the feed device. A low pressure generation device is partially provided in the guide passage for generating low pressure at the device. A control device changes the low pressure in the guide passage. A pressurized air device is attached to the guide passage through a conical annular gap extending into the guide passage.
