[origin: WO2013053744A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a composite sheet-metal part (1) with a metal edge region (5), said part having two outer covering sheets (2, 3) made of metal and at least one layer (4) which is arranged between the covering sheets and which consists of a plastic. The aim of the invention is to provide a method for producing a composite sheet-metal part with a metal edge region, said method allowing an economical production of a corresponding composite sheet-metal part and a high degree of automation. This is achieved by a method in which . - a selected edge region of the composite sheet-metal part is heated such that the plastic layer arranged between the outer covering sheets softens, . - the covering sheets are pressed against each other in points or regions by applying a force onto at least one outer covering sheet in the edge region such that the plastic layer in the edge region to which the force is being applied exits, and . - subsequently or at the same time that the force is being applied, the two covering sheets are joined together at least in regions or in points in the squeezed edge region.
