[origin: WO2013054012A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for towing motor vehicles, comprising a self-contained hydraulically driven tracked vehicle (1), and an inclinable mounting (5) which is mounted so as to tilt upward along a horizontal axis by being driven by at least one jack (30a, 30b). The mounting (5) is shaped in accordance with a beam enabling two carriages (7, 8) to roll on the inside and outside of said beam. The first lower carriage (7) is to roll along the mounting (5) up to the ground, and accommodate the two rear wheels of the vehicle. The second upper carriage (8) can roll simultaneously along the mounting (5) and the first carriage (7) up to the ground, and is connected to a specific tool for immobilizing or accommodating the wheels of the vehicle. The tool comprises a hydraulic fork mechanism (MF) provided with a first frame (13) and a second frame (17) that are adjustable in orthogonal directions (A, B).
