[origin: CA2830127A1] The invention relates to a brush roller (A) of a floor cleaning device with a rotating brush roller as a cylindrical rotating element. The brush roller (A) is arranged as a hollow body in a brush housing via bearings by means of inserted outer end pieces (4, 5). A receiving shaft (2) which runs in the shape of a spiral and comprises an outer passage region for receiving and retaining a continuous brush strip (3) is arranged in the casing region of the hollow body. A central segment (1) is designed as a self-supporting hollow body made of plastic. The outer end pieces (4, 5) engage into said hollow body by means of a formfitting connection, and the end pieces (4, 5) at least partly continue the receiving shaft (2).
