Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2013056803A1] The invention relates to a method and a filling machine for filling containers (2) with a liquid filling material using a filling system comprising at least one filling element (9) on which the respective container (2) is arranged in a sealed position during the filling process, which has at least one liquid valve (16) for introducing the filling material into the respective container (2) in a controlled manner, and which has a probe (23) that extends into the container (2) during the filling process, said probe comprising at least one probe opening (23.1) that determines the fill level. The container (2) is first overfilled such that the filling material level is above the probe opening (23.1) by opening and closing the liquid valve (16) in a controlled manner during a filling phase, and subsequently overfilled filling material is conducted back to the filling material tank (8) via the probe opening (23.1) and a probe channel during a fill level-correcting phase for adjusting a desired target fill level.
