The visual barrier (210) is integrated into the security document (1) such that for at least one angle of viewing a view through the visual barrier (210) and through the security document (1) onto a piece of information present behind the security document (1) is possible. The graphic representation comprises at least one first partial image portion (101) for the at least one angle of viewing. The method further comprises the step of detecting at least two images of the security document (1) in front of the display device (4) for at least two different angles of viewing, evaluating the detected at least two images and deducing a verification decision therefrom.
