Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2770243A2] The collar (4) has a base (10) with a central opening (12) for receiving the collar of a cylinder (6). A fastening unit such as M66x2.5 type female threading, is arranged to the collar. An annular portion (14) extends longitudinally from the base so as to surround a valve (8) for its protection. The annular portion has a generally cylindrical shape with a flared free upper edge (16) in an opposite longitudinal direction at the base. The portion has a recess (18) at its free edge, where the recess extends to the base and is intended to give access to the valve in a radial direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a gas cylinder (2) a method for manufacturing a protection and gripping collar.
