[origin: WO2013062953A1] An adhesive dispensing module (8) includes a pneumatic actuator (10) for actuating reciprocating movement of a piston (62) on a dispenser valve member (58). The pneumatic actuator (10) includes a valve element (32) and a pneumatic housing (1 2) with an inlet chamber (26), an exhaust chamber (34), and a piston chamber (36). The valve element (32) includes a plurality of inlet passages (80) and a plurality of exhaust passages (82). The valve element (32) rotates from a first position in which the inlet passages (80) deliver pressurized air from the inlet chamber (26) to the piston chamber (36), to a second position in which the exhaust passages (82) exhaust pressurized air from the piston chamber (36) to the exhaust chamber (34). The valve element (32) also includes a plurality of fins (88) configured to be driven by an electromagnetic coil (120) to move the valve element (32).
