[origin: WO2013059851A2] The invention relates to a device for bending metal sheets (3), comprising a die (1), a punch (2) that presses a metal sheet (3) into the die (1) during a bending operation, and an optical measuring unit (5) for detecting the respective bending angle of the metal sheet (3) by triangulation. According to the invention, the die (1) and/or the punch (2) comprise/s at least one measuring slot (9) that is perpendicular to the bending line and open towards the metal sheet (3) and that has a seat (12) for the measuring unit (5) in order to produce advantageous measuring conditions. The measuring unit (5) comprises a series of transmitters (6) for laser beams (7) running parallel in the bending direction, the series of transmitters being aligned in the slot plane and extending at least over the region of the measuring slot (9), and at least one line scan camera (8) for detecting the laser beams reflected at the metal sheet (3) by triangulation.
