[origin: WO2013068674A1] The invention relates chiefly to a device for articulating a motor vehicle seat backrest relative to the seating portion of said seat which is essentially characterized in that at least one reinforcing element (25) is secured to the backrest (23), extending over at least part of the height of the rear face (26) of the backrest (23) as far as the lower part (28) of said rear face of the backrest (23) where the reinforcing element (25) is secured to at least one articulation component (29) secured to the seating portion (22) which comprises at least a system whereby the occupant of said seat (21) can make the backrest (34) pivot relative to the seating portion (22). The invention also relates to a motor vehicle seat which is essentially characterized in that the reinforcing element (25) of said articulation device (24) is overmoulded onto the backrest (23) of the seat (21) which backrest is made of a composite material.
