[origin: EP2778075A1] The device (10) has a packing table (11), on top of which a package (14) to be strapped is mounted, and an insertion unit (24) that is provided to supply the package surrounded by a strapping unit channel of a tensioning- and sealing device. An edge protection unit (20) is arranged by an arrangement unit. A discharge unit is arranged in the gravitational direction below a magazine (19). The discharge unit is arranged on top of a back bend drag chain, through which the discharge unit is moved parallel to the receiving surface. A separating bar has retaining teeth on an abutment surface.
