A slide (4) that is displaceably arranged on the housing (3) can be displaced for opening the locking device (1) along an opening direction (Y) that differs from the closing direction (X), and a catch spring element (41) holds the connector (2) in contact with the housing (3) when the locking device (1) is in a closing position, and in order to open the locking device (1), can be moved out of engagement with the connector (2) by displacing the slide (4) in the opening direction (Y), in order to detach the connector (2) from the housing (3), so that the connector (2) is separated from the housing (3) when the locking device (1) is in an opening position.
