[origin: WO2013075988A1] The invention relates to a method for transferring a material web, in particular a fibrous web (F) in the form of a paper, cardboard, or tissue web, from a drying arrangement (1) in a machine (26) for producing such a material web to a functional unit (4) located downstream of the drying arrangement (1) in which the material web is supported on a continuously revolving drying conveyor belt (3) and is alternately guided over a plurality of heatable drying cylinders (TZn, TZn-1, TZn-2, TZn-3) and intermediate deflection rolls (5), the web being in direct contact with the surface of the drying cylinders. In said method, the material web is adjusted to the desired width after transferring a guiding strip (AS) from the drying arrangement (1) to the downstream functional unit (4). The invention is characterized in that downstream of the last drying cylinder (TZn) of the drying arrangement (1), the guiding strip (AS) is supported by the drying belt (3), is guided all the way to the region in which the drying belt (3) wraps around a roll (6) that can be subjected to suctioning and is located downstream of the last drying cylinder (TZn), is then picked up from the drying belt (3) in a pick-up zone (AB) within the wrap-around region, and is transferred to the downstream functional unit (4).
