The cooking appliance (1) is equipped with user door (3) that is automatically operated between fully opened state and closed state, using door drive unit (4). A non-contact detector (6) is provided for activating the door drive unit, according to which the user door is fully opened and closed.

Ein Gargerät, wie z.B. ein Backofen, ist mit einem berührungslosten Detektor (6) ausgestattet, mit welchem ein Türantrieb (4) aktiviert werden kann, der die Benutzertüre (3) des Geräts automatisch öffnet. Als Detektor (6) kann beispielsweise ein optischer, akustischer, kapazitiver oder induktiver Detektor vorgesehen sein. Vorteilhaft ist der Detektor (6) so ausgestaltet, dass er ein Backblech (7) oder einen Gitterrost vor dem Gargerät erkennt.
