Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2784472A1] The present invention securely collects a desired fragment from a section of a biological tissue with a simple apparatus and a simple operation. Provided is a cell collection apparatus (1) for picking up a fragment cut out together with a small piece of a substrate (2) along predetermined dividing lines from a section (X) of a tissue pasted on a front surface of the substrate (2) divided into plural small pieces along predetermined dividing lines, wherein the cell collection apparatus (1) includes: a support unit (4) that supports a sheet member (3) to which a back surface of the substrate (2) is pasted; a needle member (5) including needle tips; and a moving mechanism (6) that holds the needle member (5) with the needle tips facing the sheet member (3) on an opposite side to a substrate (2) side of the sheet member (3), and that moves the needle member (5) in the forward direction of the needle tips, wherein at least two needle tips are arranged within a region narrower than one end surface of the small piece substantially on the identical plane intersecting with the longitudinal direction of the needle member (5).
