Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2013083177A1] The present invention relates to pressure vessels comprising a composite dome and metal cylindrical center section where the dome is of such a thickness as to be capable of withstanding the pressure exerted by a fluid contained in the vessel but the cylindrical center section is not. To overcome this shortcoming the cylindrical center section is hoop-wrapped with a filamentous composite. Methods of coupling the dome to the center section are also set forth.
