[origin: US2013158250A1] Provided are compositions and methods of deacidifying a cellulose-based material. The compositions include a hydrohalo-olefin and a deacidification agent dispersed within the hydrohalo-olefin. Cellulose-based materials are contacted with the composition for a sufficient time to increase the pH of the material.
