[origin: WO2013086547A1] The device for rail machining according to the invention enables exact tracking of the machining tools (1) on the laid rail profile (2) in at least four degrees of freedom. As a result, it is possible to implement subsequent machining with significantly greater precision and to obtain a consistent and precise rail profile (2). For this purpose the tracking is performed in four or five and, in special cases, even six degrees of freedom and preferably also on a separate infeed axis (24) in order not to copy, but rather to correct imprecisions and irregularities on the rail (2). The device is used for the machining and/or correction of laid rail lines (2) and is fastened onto a railway vehicle (4).
