[origin: WO2013087155A1] The invention relates to a turbine for an exhaust gas turbocharger, comprising a turbine housing (18) having a receiving chamber for a turbine wheel of the turbine, at least two guide blades (10) that are arranged upstream of the turbine wheel, succeed one another in the circumferential direction of the turbine wheel and are fixed relative to the turbine housing (18) in order to deflect exhaust gas to be delivered by the turbine wheel, and at least one actuating element (16) by means of which a flow cross-section of the turbine through which the waste gas can flow is variably adjustable and which is movable relative to the turbine housing (18) in the axial direction of the turbine between at least one closed position that narrows the flow cross-section and at least one open position that frees the flow cross-section, wherein the actuating element (16) is arranged in a space (14) between the guide elements (10) delimited in the circumferential direction by the guide elements (10) at least in the closed position.
