[origin: WO2013092584A2] The invention relates to a method for coating substrates with a cross-linkable layer of polyurethane foam, wherein a composition containing a reactive PU foam precursor and at least one propellant are present in a single-use pressure container. According to the invention, said composition which is divided into droplets by spray application is discharged and a foaming of the droplets takes place after the spraying and/or during the formation of the layer, at least one part of the propellant comprising dimethyl ether and/or dimethoxymethane.
