The method according to the invention comprises a temporally overlapping performance of the following steps: (a) carrying out a treatment program with the objects (7) in the treatment container (2, 4); (b) generating an oxidizing agent in the oxidizing agent generator (20); and (c) transferring the oxidizing agent into the container (38) and keeping same therein for use. The invention further relates to a domestic appliance (1) suitable for carrying out said method.
