[origin: WO2014173477A1] The invention relates to a foldable wheelchair (1) with two side frames (2), in each of which a front wheel (3) and a rear wheel (4) are mounted, and with a scissor-type element (5) which is arranged between the side frames (2) and has two scissor-type arms (6), wherein the scissor-type arms (6) are mounted pivotably in the side frames (2) in the region of the one scissor-type-element end (7). In the case of a wheelchair of this type, provision is made, according to the invention, for the scissor-type arms (6) to be mounted pivotably in the region of the other scissor-type-element end (9) in manually actuable actuating members (11) which are mounted pivotably in the side frames (2) at a distance from the pivot axis of the other scissor-type-element end (9) in the actuating members (11), and a folding hinge (12) which is mounted pivotably in the side frames (2) is arranged at a distance from the other scissor-type end (9), furthermore with an actuating means (13) which is connected pivotably to the folding hinge (12) at a distance from the mountings thereof in the side frames (2), and is effective between the folding hinge (12) and one of the actuating members (11) at a distance from the pivot axis of said actuating member (11) in the side frames (2) assigned thereto, and furthermore with means (14) for fixing at least one actuating member (11) relative to the side frame (2) assigned to said actuating member (11) in the unfolded position of the wheelchair (1).
