[origin: EP2796615A1] Clothes dryer (1) of the present invention includes drying chamber (9), air passage (10) through which drying air discharged from drying chamber (9) is circulated into drying chamber (9), heat pump device (7) provided in air passage (10) and including compressor (2), condenser (3), expansion device (4), and evaporator (5) connected with pipe (6) to circulate a refrigerant, air blower (8) for blowing air into air passage (10), discharging unit (13) for discharging water to evaporator (5), and controller (16) for controlling a drying operation. Controller (16) discharges the water from discharging unit (13), and then operates compressor (2). With this, scale can be prevented from adhering onto evaporator (5), to remove lint.
