Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2013098527A1] The present invention provides multiple glazing with variable diffusion by liquid crystals (100), having first and second sheets of flat float glass (1, 2) held on the edge of their internal faces (11, 21) by a seal (7), in particular made of a given seal material, in particular substantially organic, first and second electrodes (3, 4), a layer (5) of liquid crystals of average thickness E between 5 and 15 mum including 5 mum and excluding 15 mum and incorporating spacers (6). The thickness of each of the first and second glass sheets is less than or equal to 6.5 mm and each of the coated internal faces of the first and second electrodes has a dioptric defect rating, expressed in millidiopters, of less than or equal to (I) where the thickness E of liquid crystals is in µm. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such glazing.
